ABOUT Donut Disaster - A Shakey Halloween Horror is a short, silly 'horror' game. It's about a diner worker called PT. The story is about the drama and 'horror challenges' of getting home. I made it as I wanted to make something fun for my mate who I make fan/meme content for and was inspired by Niven Hedinger's content.

You just have to complete some simple tasks and survive to get home. Average playtime is around 15 minutes. I tried to make the game creepy. I used some AI for some still images and ending music. There is only 1  real ending to the game but I did start numbering stuff, please ignore the numbers, they're just for fun. Can you find the hidden Shakeys?

This is my first game so it has some experimental features that I put in out of curiosity. Any feedback is appreciated.

CONTROLS

  • Movement - W, A, S, D
  • Interaction - LMB
  • Jump - SPACE
  • Jog/Sprint - SHIFT Key
  • Toggle filter effects - Z and X
  • Random, in random scenes - P and T
  • Hint: Use the tree

KNOWN ERRORS/BUGS:

  • Scene 2 (Tree road/Bats)  - Slow movement. This is due to a problem with the movement speed, I don't think it's lag. (It might still be). Pressing SHIFT resets this. (for me in my test).
  • Scene 2 (Tree road/Tree/Before the wolf) - Random object/overlay particle glitch.
  • Scene 3 (Grandma's House) - When leaving granny's house there is a "rave" light glitch from a light filter I applied.
  • Scene 3 (Bear Traps) - When the scene resets after stepping on a a bear trap there's a movement "slide." I fixed this in a previous build but it found it's way back in.

Could not beat the game but good this works really well as a horror comedy and that's a good thing because those kinds of games can be really hard to pull off good job.

Awesome thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. Thanks for playing. Do you mind letting me know what the main thing stopping you from finishing it was? Cheers again!

So, one problem is that when you get to the walk home scene the fps drops really bad, and it makes it hard to not get killed by a bat what you should do to fix that is delete extra assets that have no use to the scene.

Oh, thanks for letting me know. I had problems with framerate drops later when when I was testing it but didn't realise it was affecting this area too. It's good to know what I can do to fix it up. I appreciate the feedback. 👍

I think I found the problem. I've added notes to the description as a basic work around. Thanks again for letting me know.

This projects has a huge potential!

Really liked the experience. Very atmospheric, well put together, with some issues that can be fixed, but overall, not bad. I am looking forward to the updates and further developments with this one.

Best of luck!
